Achieving Balance in Your Home

Achieving balance in your home is equally as important as striving for a balanced inner self.  We spend so much time talking about personal health, but the inside of our homes (and outside) should also be balanced and healthy.

Life is a balance between holding on and letting go.  – Rumi

Achieving balance in your home is equally as important as striving for a balanced inner self.  We spend so much time talking about personal health, but the inside of our homes (and outside) should also be balanced and healthy.

Our homes could be balanced by shape, color, texture and visual weight.  Clutter and an unbalanced environment can cause stress, which affects our mental well-being--but not everyone feels that way!

Some people can’t or don’t want to de-clutter or let go. They find joy in everything that’s nestled in every corner and in every inch of space. We understand that there’s a perceived loss when someone decides to let go of something, but we take heart in helping people BALANCE beauty and function, regardless of the situation.

We recently went to a home because a client felt that she needed new artwork. When we walked through the home, we realized that her existing art was quite wonderful, but the pieces were housed in 30-year-old frames. We took 5 pieces of her art and had them matted and re-framed, and it brought new life to her existing art. This is just one example of what we consider “balance” when it comes to the service we offer to our community.

Another client literally sold everything she owned and wanted to start fresh. Her goal was to create a “Zen like home”. We created a minimal, fluid space making use of natural materials and bare essentials combined with uncomplicated furniture design. Our goal was to balance simplicity and create an uncluttered space.

It’s a privilege to be invited into someone’s home, and we’re trained to see things that the customer doesn’t see when it comes to harmony and balance. Sometimes it’s necessary to discuss letting go of things, and other times it’s about repurposing or recreating.

Please email us at [email protected] if you’re interested in discussing the possibilities of recreating your home space!

Warmly,

Jeannie
